Polishing Pads

Polishing Pads lists three CHOICE round floor pads for rotary floor machines. The red 13 in pad is a buffing grade for light cleaning and spray buffing of finished floors. The black pads, in 13 in and 17 in diameters, are a stripping grade made to remove old finish, wax buildup and embedded soil together with a floor stripper.

Two choices decide the order. First, the diameter must match the pad driver on your machine: a 17 in pad covers more floor per pass but needs a 17 in machine. Second, the color sets how aggressive the pad is. Use red for routine upkeep, and save black for the day the old finish comes off before a new coat goes down. Try any pad on a small, hidden area first, and flip or replace it once it is clogged or worn.

Floor cleaners and a baseboard wax stripper are in Floor & Carpet Care; other floor tools are in Equipment.
